September 2001 wieder erheblich an Aufwind gewonnen hat, fehlt bislang eine systematische Ubersicht uber die Analyseebenen und Variablenkategorien, mit deren Hilfe Sozialwissenschaftler das Phanomen des Terrorismus zu ergrunden suchen. Die vorliegende Arbeit schliesst diese Lucke und beleuchtet zum einen strukturelle Erklarungsansatze auf der wirtschaftlichen, kulturellen und politischen Ebene, zum anderen akteurszentrierte Erklarungsansatze aus der psychologischen und Rational-Choice-Perspektive.
